El grupo de Prelude Music Academy está dirigido porh Carina Voly, y el grupo está integrado por 6 chicos y chicas de Wisconsin.

Ensemble Prelude bios (group and individual)

Greta Breckbill is 18 and will be attending college in the fall. She has been playing the violin for almost 11 years and chamber music for at least five years. She has studied with Suzanne Beia of the Pro Arte Quartet and Gene Purdue of Madison, Wisconsin, and has also been a member of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra. Aside from music, Greta enjoys theater and art.

Madlen Breckbill is 15 and has been playing violin for 11 years. She enjoys playing in her chamber group as well as acting, singing in choir and being with her friends. She studies violin at the Buddy Conservatory and also performs with the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Shana Heimerl is an eighteen-year-old violist and fourth year member of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she is a senior at Madison Country Day School. She attended the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra‘s Grand European Tour in the summer of 2005 and this is her second summer at the Prelude Music Academy. She is currently studying with Olga Pomolova.

Bradley Riss is 17 and has been playing the cello for 12 years. He has been a member of Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra for seven seasons and has participated in the chamber music program for four. He has also attended the University of Wisconsin Summer Music Clinics 5 summers and Suzuki Summer Institutes ten summers. This will be Brad's second summer attending the Prelude Music Academy. This past spring, Brad played a concerto with his high school orchestra and was awarded an exemplary soloist award by the Wisconsin School Music Association. He also loves playing and umpiring baseball. In the fall, Brad will have a part-time job at the local fire station.

Elena Streeter is 16 and will be a junior in high school this fall. She has been playing the cello since fourth grade, and has been studying cello privately with Carina Voly for five years. Elena is a member of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony orchestra, where she participates in the chamber music program as well. This is Elena’s second year at Prelude. Aside from her music, Elena enjoys reading and horseback riding.

The Ensemble Prelude is a group of students that attend the Prelude Music Academy summer session. Prelude Music Academy's vision is to bring the sustaining experience of music education to all students dedicated to broadening their music abilities. This summer program has been designed to provide high quality personalized instruction and guidance for talented young musicians interested in expanding their performance skills regardless of economic background. Prelude offers a quality three-week residential summer music program for violinists, violists, cellists, flutists, and pianists entering grades 7-12 emphasizing an integrated arts curriculum, and featuring classes in chamber music, orchestra, music theory, private lessons and master classes.

Carina Voly, Music Director. Dynamism and energy are hallmarks of cellist Carina Voly. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she has been described as “speaking through her cello” (Fitchburg Star). Voly has performed everything from chamber and orchestral music to folk and world music. She has been featured in radio programs in Argentina and the United States, including Wisconsin Public Radio's "Live at the Elvehjem" and has performed with orchestras in Argentina, Israel and the United States, including Solistas de Buenos Aires, Bat Yam Symphony Orchestra, Ramat Gan Chamber Orchestra, the Green Bay Symphony, the Madison Symphony and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, with whom she currently performs. Since 1995, Voly has been the Director of Chamber Music for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras. She teaches Cello at a private studio and resides in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1998, Voly helped found the Crossroads Trio. She performed World Chamber Music with them through 2005. She performed and recorded with the Latin American folk ensemble Sotavento, over a four-year period. She appeared as a guest artist with them in 1998 in the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's Concert on the Square Series.
